Dr. Li has been working at Beijing Bo’ai Hospital, China Rehabilitation Research Center since 2009. His main clinical areas include surgical treatment and rehabilitation of spinal, spinal cord and peripheral nerve injuries; upper and lower extremity functional reconstruction for cervical spinal cord injury; neuromodulation and surgical management of spasticity and neuropathic pain secondary to central nervous system injury (such as stroke, cerebral palsy, brain tumor and traumatic brain injury); surgical treatment of complications after central nervous system injury including pressure ulcers and heterotopic ossification; joint deformity correction; as well as basic and clinical research on stem cell-mediated neural repair.

He currently serves as a member of the North China Committee of the Hand Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Young Committee Member of the Bone and Joint Committee of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, Member of the Cervical Spondylosis Committee of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, Young Committee Member of the Orthopedics Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Member of the Limb Rehabilitation Committee and the Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Committee of the China Association of Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons, Member of the International Spinal Cord Society, Member of the Spinal Cord Injury Group of the Chinese Research Hospital Association, and China Chapter Member of the International Limb Salvage Society.

He has presided over 1 research project funded by the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, 1 research project of the China Disabled Persons’ Federation and 2 bureau-level research projects. He has participated in multiple National Science and Technology Support Programs during the 12th Five-Year Plan Period and National Natural Science Foundation of China projects. In the past five years, he has published more than 10 papers in SCI-indexed journals and Chinese core journals. He is an editorial board member of Journal of Neurorestoratology, and a reviewer for Journal of Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery, Translational Medicine Journal and Chinese Journal of Reparative and Reconstructive Surgery.
