Treatment of Optic Atrophy with Fetal Stem Cells
Results
The mean age of the treated patients was 12.7 years. The oldest patient was 55 years old. Gender distribution rate was 1:1.3 (male:female). There were 74% of the cases reported improvements (Refer to figure below).

The type of improvements included improved vision, improved visual field, improved pattern visual evoked potentials (PVEP), and improved flash visual evoked potential (FVEP) (Refer to figure below).

Most improvements started within 4 months after the transplantation of fetal stem cells in WSTC (Refer to figure below).
| First Improvements (n=74) | ||
| Months after Treatment | Cases | Cumulative Percentage |
| 1 | 3 | 4.05% |
| 2 | 12 | 20.27% |
| 3 | 18 | 44.59% |
| 4 | 24 | 77.03% |
| 5 | 7 | 86.49% |
| 6 | 4 | 91.89% |
| 7 | 3 | 95.95% |
| 8 | 2 | 98.65% |

Conclusions
In summary, fetal stem cells (NSCs) injection have shown to have a strong positive effect on the health status of 74% of the treated patients. Stem cell transplantation seems to be a safe and potentially powerful therapy for this group of patients in WSTC.
